Benefits

Vitamin K2 is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in bone health and calcium metabolism. Unlike Vitamin K1, primarily involved in blood clotting, vitamin K2 helps direct calcium to bones and teeth rather than letting it accumulate in arteries or soft tissues. This targeted calcium transport supports bone density, lowers the risk of vascular calcification, and can contribute to better cardiovascular health. Vitamin K2 also works synergistically with nutrients like Vitamin D, enhancing the activation of proteins critical for proper bone mineralisation.

Evidence

  • Most junk food and even many regular diets—have almost no
K2, so without it your arteries can harden. Eating more vitamin K2 can help keep your blood vessels clear and lower calcium‐related risks.
  • Studies found that when people take a normal dietary amount of MK-7, their blood levels of MK-7 go up a lot, but taking MK-4 doesn’t raise MK-4 levels. This means not all forms of vitamin K2 work the same—MK-7 is far more bioavailable and effective than MK-4.
